Resilient Seated - C-Series

S&P butterfly valves have been designed to be installed in critical phases of all industry types. By choosing the correct materials for the fluid and working conditions of your installation, will ensure optimum performance. The quality of our valves is fully guaranteed since 100% of them are hydrostatically tested before leaving our plant.

Resilient Seated C-SeriesValve Actuation

Valve Actuation Our butterfly valves can be operated by any of the following types of actuators:

  • Manual operation
    • Lever
    • Handwheel
    • Gearbox
  • Pneumatic actuation
    • Quarter turn actuators, double acting or spring return
    • Linear cylinders, double acting or spring return

Technical Description

SOLENT & PRATT, C series valves are of concentric geometry design, developed for high integrity installations in all types of industry. The valve is bi-directional, giving consistently tight shut-off using the C-Series Valvesintegral body liner which acts as the seal when the disc moves into the closed position.

The Solent & Pratt, C - series valves are available in sizes 2" to 48" in a wide range of materials to order with a pressure rating up to 285 Psig (16 Barg). Elastomer material is EPDM as standard with a choice of alternatives to suit the specific duty. A single piece shaft is splined on to the disc, which is another feature of the high integrity construction.

Maintenance is quick and easy and can be carried out on site without the use of any special tools. Metal to metal seated butterfly valves are available within the C - series range for applications which demand operating temperatures ranging from -190°C to + 550°C. It is available with Hand lever, Gear operator, Electric, Hydraulic or Pneumatic actuators

Standard Design

A     C-Series Theory of Operations
Clearance between pipe flanges will make possible free valve access with the disk in half closed position since, in this way, the disk edge is protected and it is also reduced the elastomer interference during assembly and the initial torque when opening the valve.

B      After alignment of the valve with the flanges, and before tightening the bolts, the disk must be turned to the full open position, since being in fully closed position, a deformation on the elastic ring is produced, and on tightening the bolts the elastomer will expand around the disk edge, giving a higher torque in the initial opening, or producing breakage or permanent deformation of the elastomer.

C      Flanges not sufficiently open may spoil the elastic ring.
